  1. SoftBank to invest $10 billion in India
    • Japan’s telecom giant SoftBank has promised an investment of $10 billion (over Rs.60,000 crore) in India’s IT and communications space.
    • SoftBank already has made investments in Indian companies, including InMobi and Hike.
    • SoftBank has operations in broadband, fixed line telecom, e-commerce, finance, media and marketing.

    • October 27 also marks the commemoration of the first military action led by infantry in Jammu and Kashmir after Independence.

    • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its User Experience Center of Excellence at its Seven Hills Park Delivery Center in Milford, Ohio.

  8. 3 named for holding black money abroad
    • The Union government has named three persons who are black money account holders in an affidavit to the Supreme Court.
    • The three persons named are Pradip Burman, director of the Burman group and one of promoters of Dabur group, Pankaj Chimanlal Lodhya, a Rajkot-based bullion trader and Radha S Timblo, a Goa-based miner and owner of Timblo Pvt Ltd.
